THE RESCUE
As everyday, the
granting sound of the alarm clock rang at seven o’clock, so Henry, the pier
guard, jumped out of bed lazily, to start his routine. After a relaxing shower
and a copious breakfast, he left home breathing the fresh air of the sea.
Everything was calm; Henry was strolling, listening to the waves and watching the boats bobbing as if to the wind pace; when
suddenly the roar of an engine caught his attention; two young boys had stolen
one of the boats.
Henry was watching
how the boat was disappearing in the horizon, while the sunbeams were being
hidden behind the dark clouds that were auguring storm. The boys, Mike and
Jack, have just begun sailing when they realized about the horrible weather. In
few minutes, it started to rain and the soft kind wind, became an awful
blizzard. The oars flew away being lost among the waves and they tried to
support the boat afloat without success. Unfortunately the boat had been sunked
and they had no lifejackets.
The water hit them
strongly and when they thought death was nearby, they glimpsed in the
distance a hopefull beam, they saw a shore...
They swam quickly
and alfer some unending minutes they felt the warm sand between their fingers.
The two boys made a fire to get dryer and because it was a good way to be seen.
The hours were going and going so they became hungry and exhausted.
Eventually,
a big boat of coast guards appeared in the distance; they started shouting
happily and when the boat halt on the edge, they saw Henry was in. Not only he
rescued them, but also didn’t he punished them for what they did. They have
learned an important lesson and they promissed to compensate Henry in some way.
